Meet the Tackle. Part of the Brinck Heritage Collection . The implement that worked between our Fowler AA pair, patented by John Fowler & Co. back in 1858. Cable plowing was never just two engines. The tackle is what actually cut the soil, pulled by steel wire rope while the engines stayed put on opposite edges of the field. One engine drew it across, the other paid out rope, then the pull reversed and it came right back. Built double-ended on purpose, so it never had to turn around. Restored piece by piece until the whole outfit was complete again.
